The Joseph Brant Museum is an excellent place to take a family outing located at 1240 North Shore Blvd E, Burlington, ON L7S 1C5. The Museum features three permanent galleries, as well as a space for traveling exhibitions. In addition to a main gallery, the Joseph Brant also features a special area for educational programming and school groups. Visitors of all ages can enjoy a day at the museum. The museum features a 1937 replica of the house built by Mohawk native Joseph Brant on his 1798 Crown land grant. A new addition will be constructed beneath the current museum and will add 12,000 square feet of space to the Joseph Brant Museum. This expansion will give the museum the space it needs to host national exhibitions and more of its collection. Additionally, the current museum will be renovated to provide barrier-free access to the exhibition galleries and interactive programming. The ‘new’ Joseph Brant Museum will open on September 15, 2019. The exhibition is free and will remain open until Feb. 26. The current building is also accessible to the disabled.

The original Joseph Brant Museum was built in 1942 on three acres of land donated by King George III. The ‘new’ building is a replica of Brant’s home, and it is also a historical and political landmark. The renovations will include an additional 12,000 square feet of exhibit space and an expansion of educational programming space.
